Terms of Service
Welcome to Anvil of Heroes.
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Anvil of Heroes, including our website, applications, tools, templates, printable character sheets, AI-assisted character and NPC generation features, and related services.
By using Anvil of Heroes, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. About Anvil of Heroes
Anvil of Heroes is a tabletop roleplaying game toolkit designed to help users create, customize, generate, save, export, and print character sheets, character dossiers, NPC profiles, and related roleplaying materials.
The Service is intended as a creative aid for tabletop RPG preparation and inspiration. It is not an official game system, virtual tabletop, rules authority, or substitute for any rulebook, publisher, game master, or campaign agreement.
2. Eligibility
You must be old enough to use online services in your country or have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
By using the Service, you confirm that you have the right and authority to agree to these Terms.
3. Accounts
Some features may require an account.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information up to date.
Anvil of Heroes currently supports sign-in using Google Authentication. If you sign in using a third-party authentication provider, such as Google, your use of that provider is subject to its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the availability, security, or operation of third-party authentication services.
You are responsible for maintaining access to the third-party account you use to sign in. If you lose access to that account, you may also lose access to your Anvil of Heroes account unless alternative recovery options are available.

4. User Content
You may create, upload, enter, generate, edit, or store content through the Service, including character concepts, names, backstories, NPCs, campaign notes, sheet layouts, images, prompts, and other creative materials. This content is referred to as User Content.
You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to host, store, process, display, modify, format, and transmit your User Content only as needed to provide, maintain, improve, protect, and secure the Service.
You are responsible for your User Content and for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to use and share it.
5. AI-Generated Content
Anvil of Heroes may offer AI-assisted features that help generate character concepts, NPCs, backstories, roleplaying hooks, names, descriptions, and other creative text.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, similar to content generated for other users, or unsuitable for your campaign. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to use any AI-generated content.
We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will be unique, error-free, appropriate for every audience, compatible with any specific tabletop RPG system, or accepted by any game master, group, publisher, or event organizer.
You may use AI-generated content created through your use of the Service for personal tabletop play, campaign preparation, printing, and other lawful purposes, subject to these Terms.
You should not enter sensitive personal information, confidential information, private third-party information, or content you do not have the right to use into AI-assisted features.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any law or regulation.
- Infringe or misuse intellectual property rights.
- Upload, create, or generate content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, hateful, threatening, exploitative, or otherwise harmful.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, systems, or areas of the Service without authorization.
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or damage the Service.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, copy, or misuse the Service.
- Use the Service to create spam, malware, phishing content, deceptive material, or fraudulent activity.
- Misrepresent content generated through the Service as official material from a tabletop RPG publisher unless you have permission.
- Use the Service in a way that harms other users, the Service, or our third-party providers.
We may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts if we believe these Terms have been violated.
7. Intellectual Property
Anvil of Heroes, including its name, branding, interface, design, software, templates, layouts, and original content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service or our intellectual property.
You may not copy, reproduce, resell, redistribute, modify, or create competing services using our templates, designs, software, branding, or content except as permitted by these Terms or with our written permission.
8. Third-Party Game Systems and Compatibility
Anvil of Heroes may allow users to create materials for use with tabletop roleplaying games. References to game systems, classes, ancestries, attributes, mechanics, rules, or terminology may be for compatibility, organization, or user-created customization.
Unless clearly stated otherwise, Anvil of Heroes is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to any tabletop RPG publisher.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of third-party game content complies with the applicable licenses, rules, and intellectual property policies of those publishers.
9. Printable Materials
The Service may allow you to export, download, or print character sheets, NPC cards, character dossiers, and other materials.
You are responsible for reviewing exported or printed materials before use. We do not guarantee that printed output will be error-free, perfectly formatted on all devices or printers, or accepted by every game master, group, event, or publisher.
10. Payments and Subscriptions
Some features may be free, while others may require payment or a subscription.
If paid features are offered, prices, billing periods, renewal terms, cancellation options, and refund rules will be shown at the time of purchase.
You agree to provide accurate billing information and authorize us or our payment processor to charge applicable fees.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe. We do not intentionally store full payment card details. Payment card information is handled by the payment processor.
Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, subscription fees may renew automatically until cancelled. You are responsible for cancelling your subscription before renewal if you do not want to be charged again.
11. Refunds
Refund eligibility, if any, will be described at the time of purchase or in a separate refund policy.
If no separate refund policy is provided, payments are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

12. Beta and Experimental Features
We may release experimental, beta, early-access, or preview features.
Beta features may change, break, produce unexpected results, or be discontinued at any time. We do not guarantee that beta features will remain available or become part of the final Service.
13. Third-Party Services
Anvil of Heroes relies on third-party providers to operate parts of the Service, including hosting, authentication, analytics, payments, databases, storage, and AI generation.
These providers may include Supabase, Vercel, Vercel Analytics, OpenAI, Google Authentication, and Stripe.
We are not responsible for outages, errors, security incidents, data processing practices, or service changes caused by third-party providers, except where required by applicable law.
14. Service Availability
We aim to provide a reliable Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free access.
The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, third-party service failures, security incidents, or circumstances beyond our control.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, create risk for other users, create risk for us or our providers, or if we are required to do so by law.
After termination, some provisions of these Terms will continue to apply, including ownership rights, disclaimers, limits of liability, payment obligations, and dispute provisions.
16. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and reliability.
We do not guarantee that the Service, printable outputs, AI-generated content, templates, character sheets, NPC profiles, or any other materials will meet your expectations, be suitable for your campaign, comply with any specific game rules, or be free from errors.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost content, loss of goodwill, or interruption of play, campaigns, or events.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will be limited to the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or EUR 100, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
18. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer rights, you may have rights that cannot be waived or limited by these Terms.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting the updated Terms in the Service or sending a notice.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the changes.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by the competent courts of Poland, unless applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.
